War Horse returns to London

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, the National Theatre will revive War Horse in the Lyttelton Theatre for a limited run.

Eleven years after it first debuted at the venue, Tom Morris and Marianne Elliott's Olivier Award-winning production, based on Michael Morpurgo's novel, will celebrate 100 years since the First World War ended.

Transferring to the West End in 2009 where it ran for seven years, it is currently touring the UK, having also toured internationally, visiting China, the US, and Belgium.

War Horse won five Tony Awards in 2011. It tells the story of Joey, a horse bought by Devonshire boy Albert, and their ensuing experiences fighting on the Western front.

The play will run from 8 November to 5 January, and tickets for the production will go on sale later this year.
